More than 500 university presidents, administrators and members of law enforcement agencies from 24 states gathered for the 2007 National Campus Security Summit, held May 30 on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. OSU vets pioneer disc surgery for dogsThe veterinary hospital at Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences offers percutaneous laser disc ablation surgery for canines and is the sole provider worldwide of the treatment option for dogs. University of Oklahoma President David L. Boren recently announced that with the assistance of Oklahoma City civic leaders Aubrey K. McClendon and Clayton I. Bennett, OU will add women’s rowing to its intercollegiate athletics program. Read more.
Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s department of parks and recreation management in Weatherford recently began offering two new programs in wildland fire management. Read more.
