State Regents’ Partnership Recognition Program Links Business, Higher Education Twenty-one businesses and higher education institutions throughout the state were recently recognized for their innovative partnerships through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s Economic Development Grant for the Partnership Recognition Program. Burgess Jr. and Dr. Sylvia Burgess, CU associate vice president for academic affairs, were honored with Champion of Free Enterprise Awards during a ceremony held at Cameron University in May. Soldier’s Widow Honors His Legacy With OSU Scholarship Oklahoma State University graduate Maj. Scott Hagerty, a Stillwater native, was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan on June 3, 2008, leaving behind a wife and two sons. Now his wife, Daphne, is honoring his memory through a scholarship at OSU. Read more.
Center for Family Risk and Resilience to Open at OSU-Tulsa Oklahoma State University will open a Center for Family Risk and Resilience at OSU-Tulsa this fall that will partner OSU researchers with local social service agencies to tackle problems and find solutions for issues in the community. Rose State College Students Champion Business, Philanthropy The Rose State College chapter of Students in Free Enterprise, or SIFE, will carry the Oklahoma flag as the first community college in Oklahoma to rise to the national championship.
