State funding for higher education near FY 2003 levels Significant increases for state scholarship programs and additional funding for Oklahoma’s public colleges and universities highlight higher education’s appropriations for fiscal year 2005-2006, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education announced recently. SWOSU wins national operation diabetes award ![]() Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s College of Pharmacy recently won a national award at the annual meeting of the American Pharmacists Association in Orlando, Florida. The SWOSU chapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) won the National Operation Diabetes Award for the most outstanding project. Read more. OSU students create a food product that is out of this world The Food Science Club at Oklahoma State University won first place in the 2005 NASA Food Technology Commercial Space Center Product Development Competition by developing a bite-sized muffin snack made from fresh carrots, peanut flour, wheat flour, sugar, low-sodium baking powder, cinnamon, cardamom and soymilk. Technology program at OKCCC Capitol Hill Center continues to help Hispanics prepare for better jobs ![]() Thirteen Hispanic women in southwest Oklahoma City recently completed an information technology program sponsored by Oklahoma City Community College and the SBC Foundation. The “From Information Technology to Work” program at the Oklahoma City Community College Capitol Hill Center provides basic computer knowledge and job readiness skills, such as resume preparation and interviewing techniques. The program also provides instruction in English as a second language. Read more.
