Award-winning statewide college program for adults enters its second year
The Rainbolt family of Oklahoma City is honoring Oklahoma State President Burns Hargis with a $500,000 gift to establish an endowed chair within the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. The chair will be valued at $1 million thanks to a dollar-for-dollar match by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Read more. UCO partners with District Attorney Prater for violence prevention project The University of Central Oklahoma has partnered with Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater for the Violence Prevention Project (VPP), a new, federally funded and campus-based program aimed to help UCO community members receive confidential services if victimized by relational crimes. OU’s ConocoPhillips School of Geology and Geophysics students take top global honor A team of geology and geophysics graduate students from the University of Oklahoma Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy beat out students from around the world to take first-place honors – as well as a $20,000 award and trophy – in the Second Annual American Association of Petroleum Geologists’ convention, held recently in San Antonio, Texas.
