Two new additions to the Oklahoma City Communty College nursing program are teaching students about childbirth and neonatal care. NOELLE™, a full-size birthing simulator, and her baby are now being used in the Mini Hospital at OCCC. Read more. UCO protects environment and saves taxpayers' money through wind power The University of Central Oklahoma is keeping the lights on throughout the entire campus with electricity produced exclusively by wind power. As of April 1, UCO became the first major university in Oklahoma to have 100 percent of its electricity supplied by the environmentally safe energy. Read more. Severe weather isn’t the only thing hitting Oklahoma this spring. From every corner of the state and points in between, thousands of college graduates will soon be flooding the job market, hoping to land that first big job. The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education estimate that approximately 28,400 students earned college degrees during the 2005-06 academic year throughout the state system. More than half of the graduates received bachelor’s degrees. Read more. OSU-OKC student named winner in 2006 Governors' Cup Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City student Jeffrey Johnson was awarded the Isocentric Computer Technology Prize in the 2006 Governor’s Cup Collegiate Business Plan Competition. The prize, which consists of services valued at $15,000, was awarded to the undergraduate team whose business plan best leveraged computer technology. Read more.
