Task force recommends more training, standard safety plan for Oklahoma’s campuses A group of state officials formally recommended last month to Gov. Brad Henry and the Legislature proposals to improve the safety and well-being of students by developing standard safety plans and providing more training for Oklahoma college and career technology campuses. Dr. Larry Rice – a lifelong educator, administrator at the University of Tulsa and former member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives – has been named President Designate at Rogers State University and will succeed RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley when he retires on June 30. Read more.
OSU-Okmulgee’s watchmaking program receives $1 million grant from Rolex Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee’s highly recognized watchmaking program is moving into a new era thanks to the backing and generosity of Rolex, the world’s premier name in watches. With a $1 million, five-year commitment, Rolex has become the exclusive underwriter of the OSU-Okmulgee Watchmaking and Microtechnology program. Established in 1946, the OSU-Okmulgee program has developed an excellent reputation both locally and nationally in serving the needs of the watchmaking industry. Read more.
