Teaching, research top capital bond priorities

Facilities that directly benefit teaching and learning on college campuses are the primary focus of the proposed $500 million higher education capital bond issue, according to higher education officials.

A functional analysis of the 140 projects compiled by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education indicates that more than 60.2 percent of the projected construction costs will go toward meeting the growing need for classroom instruction facilities. Read more.

OSU-Tulsa VP climbs Kilimanjaro, plants school flag on peak

There is only so much you can fit into a backpack for a strenuous climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. That didn’t stop Dr. Raja Basu, Oklahoma State University-Tulsa Vice President for Academic Affairs, from adding an OSU flag to his list of necessities.

Spending his holiday break doing something many people only dream about, Basu trekked to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and kept a promise he’d made to OSU President and System CEO David Schmidly. Read more.

Northeastern State University announces the creation of two prestigious programs to honor former Oklahoma House Speaker Larry Adair and Senator Herb Rozell for their 50 years of combined service to the state of Oklahoma and their respective districts. Redlands students, faculty build homes for less fortunate

Redlands Community College students, staff and faculty recently could be found in the El Reno community building Habitat for Humanity homes for two deserving El Reno families. Under the instruction of Jackie Bilyeu and Joel Figgs, Phi Theta Kappa gathered 56 RCC volunteers, who were a significant tool in helping Habitat for Humanity volunteers build the first house in record time.
