Dr. Glen D. Johnson sworn in as eighth chancellor of the State System of Higher Education
Dr. Glen D. Johnson was sworn in Jan. 17 as the eighth chancellor of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. Johnson succeeds Dr. Phil Moss, vice chancellor for academic affairs, who has been serving as interim chancellor since July 2006. Thanking the State Regents for the appointment, Johnson assured them that he is ready to tackle the challenges ahead. Read more. Dr. Jesse O. Snowden has been named interim president of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Snowden currently serves as vice president for academic affairs at SEOSU, a position he has held since 1999. He began his interim duties in mid-January, when former SEOSU President Glen D. Johnson assumed his position as chancellor of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. Read more. NWOSU and SSC celebrate milestone anniversaries Northwestern Oklahoma State University has kicked off its celebration of Oklahoma's Centennial, as well as its own 110th anniversary. The university is planning a number of special events through May 2008. A special 110/100 logo has been designed especially for this celebration, and several items with the logo are available for sale in the NWOSU Bookstore. Seminole State College celebrated 75 years of service to the community in December with an array of speakers, food, honored guests, long-time friends and college supporters. Approximately 270 guests gathered in SSC’s Foundation Hall on Dec. 11, to pay tribute to the institution, which began in the local high school 75 years earlier. Read more. |
