NSU alum makes Broadway debut

“It wasn’t until Broadway came along that I felt I had really made it,” Julie Andrews once remarked. If that’s true, then actor and Northeastern State University graduate Dennis Letts has really made it. He made his Broadway debut in December, starring as failed poet and missing family patriarch Beverly Weston in “August: Osage County” at the Imperial Theater in New York City. Read more.

USAO employee Bill Smith gets Purple Hearts,
62 years later

More than 62 years after he earned them in World War II, Chickasha’s Bill Smith on Nov. 29 actually laid eyes for the first time on the two Purple Hearts that he earned while serving in the U.S. Marines. Smith was decorated in a special ceremony by U.S. Congressman Tom Cole. Read more.
