September 25, 2008 :: State Regents Host Statewide Student Veterans Conference
The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education will host a statewide conference for those interested in learning more about issues related to student veterans on college campuses.
The conference will be held Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Rose State College’s Professional Training and Education Center.
Participants will receive valuable information on the new GI Bill, opportunities and obligations for serving military students, financial issues facing student veterans, developmental education strategies and health issues including traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition, participants will hear from a panel of student veterans.
The workshop is open to campus administrators, faculty and staff, college students and anyone else interested in learning more about issues facing student veterans.
