The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education approved today $988.6 million in state appropriations for the state system of higher education for FY 2015, representing a flat appropriation compared with FY 2014.
“We are appreciative of Gov. Fallin and the Legislature for making higher education funding a priority of the state of Oklahoma for the upcoming fiscal year,” said Chancellor Glen D. Johnson. “We will work with our public colleges and universities to ensure that this appropriation is allocated efficiently, continuing our efforts to increase the number of students earning college degrees and certificates by providing our students with a top quality higher education at a very affordable cost.”
For state colleges and universities, the next step in the budget process is to formulate their operating budgets for FY 2015. These proposed operating budgets and recommended tuition rates will be presented to the State Regents at their June 25 meeting and voted on at the June 26 meeting.
