Bills of Interest to Higher Education Pass Subcommittee

 

HB 2138 – Williams of the Senate & Roach of the House- states intent for Board of Trustees for Oklahoma State University/Tulsa to develop and implement a Technology Intern Partner Program, providing funding for internships and asking the Board of Trustees to develop criteria and procedure for the Program. Committee substitute for HB 2886 – Fisher of the Senate and Ferguson of the House - modifies core curriculum requirements needed for high school graduation in an effort to encourage students to enroll in courses offered at technology centers located within the school district. HB 1440 -  Wilcoxson of the Senate & Nations of the House -  changes the name of the Oklahoma Scholarship Revolving Fund and repeals the Oklahoma Tuition Scholarship Program. Full text of the bill is available at: http://www2.lsb.state.ok.us/2001-02HB/hb1440_engr.rtf

HB 2068 – Muegge of the Senate & Covey of the House - authorizes the Board of Regents for Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College to establish and promote a Center for Issue Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution at Oklahoma State University.  Full text of the bill is available at: http://www2.lsb.state.ok.us/2001-02HB/hb2068_engr.rtf

HB 2738 – Helton of the Senate & Deutschendorf of the House - changes eligibility requirements to allow students who have graduated from a private school not accredited by the State Board of Education to participate in the Oklahoma Tuition Scholarship Program. (Note: this bill will not be necessary with the passage of HB1440)
