Highlights this Week:

 

State of the State Address

On Monday, February 4, 2002, Governor Frank Keating gave his eighth and final State of the State Address before a joint session of the Legislature.  He stressed the need for dramatic tax reform and stronger standards in education.  For a full text version of the Governor’s address, click on: http://www.governor.state.ok.us/sos02release.htm

 

 

Governor Unveils FY-03 Budget Details

Also on Monday, the Governor released details of the FY2003 Budget. Education, public safety, veterans programs and mental health were among those agencies exempt from budget cuts.  The cuts are a result of a projected decline in state revenues.
