U.S. Department of Education Temporarily Withdraws SSS Application for Grants From Approval Process
On Aug. 27, 2008, Kevin Neyland of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued a statement that the Application for Grants for Student Support Services has been withdrawn from the ongoing approval process until changes can be made that reflect the Higher Education Opportunity Act signed by President Bush on Aug. 14, 2008. The Council for Opportunity in Education assumes these changes will be made as quickly as possible, but this delay in approval may affect the TENTATIVE due date of October 2008.
