International Education Week (IEW)
International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. The Oklahoma Governor’s Global Education Conference (GEC) has a link on the IEW Web site. Please select “View & Submit Events” on the left pane and on the interactive map, select “United States” and search the pages for the GEC Web site.
OASIS (Oklahoma Associations Supporting International Studies)
OASIS is a collaboration of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and is made possible through a grant provided by the Asia Society and the Longview Foundation.
Oklahoma Alliance for Geographic Education
OKAGE, headquartered at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, is an organization for geography educators in Oklahoma. OKAGE is a division of the Consortium of Oklahoma Geographers, Inc. (COG) and is affiliated with the National Geographic Society and its national network of state geographic alliances and national geography organizations.
Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education
Located in the north-central Oklahoma town of Stillwater, the department provides leadership and resources and assures standards of excellence for a comprehensive statewide system of career and technology education. That system offers programs and services in 29 technology center districts operating on 56 campuses, 398 comprehensive school districts, 25 skill centers and three juvenile facilities.
Oklahoma Department of Commerce
The department is the primary economic development arm of the state government. It recruits new businesses to the state, develops economic incentives, assists existing business with growth, facilitates international trade and export assistance, and provides funding to Oklahoma rural communities for programs and activities aimed at sustainability and economic growth.
Oklahoma Global Education Consortium
OGEC's purpose is to foster collaboration among institutions to achieve the goal of preparing individuals and communities to participate in the global society and economy.
Oklahoma Institute for Teaching East Asia
OKITEA's purpose is to assist teachers in making East Asia an integral and permanent part of their curriculum. Some initiatives include professional development for K-12 teachers and principals; sister school relationships with student and teacher exchanges between Chinese and Oklahoma schools; and Chinese language programs in K-12 schools across the state.
Oklahoma State Department of Education
SDE's mission is to improve student success through service to schools, parents and students; leadership for education reform; and regulation/deregulation of state and federal laws to provide accountability while removing any barriers to student success.
