Photo and news opportunity as the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education
host the third annual Oklahoma Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate
Programs (GEAR UP) Conference. National, state and local higher education
leaders will join Oklahoma public school educators to learn more about innovative
strategies for student success, best practices in staff development and effective
methods for school improvement.
In addition, Dr. Kevin E. Jacobs, president of the Christian Leadership Foundation of Oklahoma City, will be the keynote speaker of the event. Jacobs will discuss working to unite the faith communities with schools and public leadership in addressing the needs of students and families in Oklahoma.
Also, Chancellor Hans Brisch will speak to the GEAR UP group during a luncheon address. He will discuss why early preparation for college is vital to students achieving their goals in postsecondary education.
