Oklahoma GEAR UP School Districts Named
Nov. 7, 2011-- Twenty-two school districts across the state have been named as Oklahoma GEAR UP School Districts, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education announced. Over the next seven years, the school districts will benefit from localized education services and activities that have been proven to help students better prepare for and succeed in college.

Oct. 20, 2011-- Oklahoma will continue to provide important services and information that helps students and their families better prepare for college thanks to a multi-year federal GEAR UP grant totaling $34.9 million, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education have announced.

Jun. 27, 2011-- The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s GEAR UP program recently awarded $449,638 in College Access Subgrants to 29 school districts targeting 36 sites across the state to fund professional development for teachers so they can continue to strengthen learning opportunities and increase student achievement.
GEAR UP Offers Teachers and Students Free Outdoor Learning This Summer
Apr. 14, 2011-- Students and teachers from select GEAR UP schools can wade into investigative learning this summer as they explore Oklahoma’s fish, aquatic insects, reptiles, birds and amphibians by enrolling in one of the three, free Oklahoma GEAR UP 2011 Summer Institutes.
GEAR UP Incentive Grant Helps Raise College Aspiration, Preparation Levels in Tulsa
Jan. 11, 2011-- The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s GEAR UP program recently awarded a $70,000 subgrant to the Community Action Project of Tulsa County (CAP). The funds are helping students and families prepare for college through programs that provide access to financial aid, mentoring and tutoring services, college campus tours, individualized counseling and academic planning.

Jan. 11, 2011-- Oklahoma GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) recently awarded four subgrants totaling $111,000 to Oklahoma City-area community- and faith-based organizations. The funds are helping students and families prepare for college through programs that provide access to financial aid, mentoring and tutoring services, college campus tours, individualized counseling and academic planning.
