Future Shock

Right now, you're probably thinking that college is a long way off and you're more concerned with your next math test than college. That's cool. We want you to ace your next math test, too. However, your high school graduation will be here before you know it and the earlier you start planning for the future you want, the more likely you are to get that future.

Pop Quiz

When we first started the GEAR UP program in Oklahoma, we did a statewide phone survey of students your age. Guess what we found out...

    1. Kids your age think text messages are a waste of time.
    2. Miley secretly adores Rico on Hannah Montana.
    3. The overwhelming majority of kids your age in Oklahoma plan to attend college.

The answer, as if you didn't know, is C. The overwhelming majority of kids your age in Oklahoma plan to attend college. That's why GEAR UP is working so hard to give you more information about planning early for college. This doesn't mean we want you to start today making graphs and flow chart comparisons color-coded in triplicate to be submitted to your parents, counselors and college admissions people. Actually, we just want you take time now to start thinking about and planning for your future. Take a few minutes and visit the links listed above. They will provide you with some good information to get you started on your plan for college.
