Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City is receiving $25,000 to partner with Southern Nazarene University and the Putnam City Parent Teacher Association for “College Readiness.” In addition to implementing the LOGIC program, grant funds are used for the CollegeEd curriculum, which is comprised of student workbooks, a teacher’s guide and family handbooks. The grant funds orientation meetings for parents and students to learn about Oklahoma’s Promise, college enrollment requirements, scholarships and financial aid. Through the PTA, guest speakers attend student advisory periods and present information about college life, degree options and career choices. Grant funds also help with college campus tours.
