Professional Development Opportunities for Educators
Oklahoma GEAR UP recognizes that quality teachers are key to raising student academic achievement. Oklahoma’s K-16 standards and assessment system requires that teachers have professional experience that includes content knowledge as well as an array of strategies for classroom-based instruction and assessment.
To address this need, GEAR UP trainer/coordinators have developed professional development opportunities for GEAR UP-eligible school district educators that are built on tried-and-true, research-based programs.

To participate in professional development opportunities offered through Oklahoma GEAR UP, the school district must have a districtwide free/reduced lunch rate of 50 percent or higher and must participate in the EPAS program.
