Tulsa Carver Middle School
Tulsa Carver Middle School’s project, “Carver Science Initiative (CSI),” focused on raising eighth-grade science test scores. Team members formed a partnership with the school administration and science department, community businesses, colleges and citizens that work in related science fields to work on the project.

They purchased new equipment for the science lab, including electronic balances, beakers and stopwatches, to help improve students’ abilities for collecting data and interpreting scientific results. In addition, team members provided webcams for the science classrooms so students can participate in live discussions with professors and students at The University of Tulsa.
