Ardmore Middle School
Ardmore’s project, “Math Matters at Ardmore Middle School,” focused on improving student math scores.

The team purchased materials to create 600 Math Survival Kits to supplement what is being taught in sixth- through eighth- grade math classes. The kits contained multiplication and division flash cards and student worksheets for use in the classroom and at home with parents.

The team is encouraging students to take part in the free Summer Academies sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Each academy is held on a college campus and explores the latest trends in math, science and technology by using fun, hands-on activities and innovative software as students experiment both in the classroom and outdoors. The team will pay the transportation costs for those students who have to travel long distances to attend the academies.
