Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the State Regents provide professional development to schools that participate in EPAS?
The Regents have three K-12 specialists available to schools for assistance in utilization of the EXPLORE/PLAN/ACT results and supporting materials. These specialists are available for presentations and technical assistance at the local schools for large audiences or small curriculum groups. The programs are free of charge to participating public and private schools.

Do EPAS materials and staff development programs provide a one-time “fix it” for schools?
The materials and staff development programs should be incorporated into an ongoing training and curriculum development program, however the local schools have control of the assessment results and the professional development at the local site.

Can the EPAS scores be used to qualify for a driver's license?
Yes, but only the scores on the reading section. A reading test score at or above the 50th percentile (national norms) on the EXPLORE test or a reading test score of 14 or above on the PLAN test can be used as the requirement for a driver's license.

Will my school be allowed to work with the EPAS K-12 specialists to develop a program that is specifically tailored to our needs?
Absolutely. Please contact cbrown@oshre.edu.
