2011 Legislative Agenda
Goal: Active opposition of any legislative efforts to weaken current laws prohibiting the carrying of firearms on postsecondary campuses.
During the past three legislative sessions, efforts have been made to force Oklahoma postsecondary institutions to allow concealed weapons on campus property. CLASS Task Force members are unanimous in their opposition to any similar efforts during the 2011 legislative session. The task force has been joined in their opposition by a coalition of law enforcement officials, veterans, students, parents, faculty and administrators who firmly believe that allowing the carrying of concealed weapons on postsecondary campuses would make those campuses much less safe.
