Description: Funds will be used to create
a Health Science and Technology Center for excellence focused on rural Oklahoma
for the purpose of applied research, technology transfer, technical education
and clinical residency. One area of focus will be to train a rural healthcare
workforce with a specific focus on Orthopedic Healthcare and the prevention
and treatment of diabetes. Additionally, as referenced in the EDGE health
initiative, the Center will include a wellness component focused on tobacco
use prevention and weight control.
