EVENT: NSU - Symposium on the American Indian DATE: April 12-17 Plans continue to solidify for the 38th Annual Symposium on the American Indian, organized by the Center for Tribal Studies, at Northeastern State University. Preliminary symposium activities begin April 12 with the full schedule running April 14 through 17. This year's theme is Oklahoma Fancy Dance. Scheduled speakers include Dr. Henryetta Mann, President of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, and Vanessa Jennings, Kiowa artist and traditionalist. Jennings is the granddaughter of the late Stephen Mopope, one of the Kiowa Five painters whose mural decorates Seminary Hall. |
