INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND FACULTY

Intellectual property rights are now of greater interest to faculty and
institutions as changing technologies create new and unforeseen problems.
Many institutions have recently revised or are in the process of revising
policies on copyright and patents. New statutes have been written that will
impact patent development among Oklahoma institutions, if passed. Those
areas where changes in copyright and technology are having the greatest

faculty by the Faculty Advisory Committee to the Oklahoma State Regents for
Higher Education. Numerous Websites and publications address these issues.
This is not a comprehensive listing, but a basic resource for faculty and
other members of the Oklahoma higher education community.

National Sites

The Association of Research Libraries Office of Scholarly Communications has
developed a detailed Website discussing the future of scholarly publishing.
Included is a list of copyright policies at various institutions as well as
discussions of several important initiatives.
